Internship Opportunity at IPPA - Lyon, France - Masters-level students - March to August 2017

The International Public Policy Association (IPPA) is offering a student internship at ENTPE - University of Lyon, France, at the head office of the Association.

The main objective of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) is to develop research in the field of public policy and to create an academic community across the world. It currently has 1000 members from 70 different countries and is composed of 22 international representatives of the College including 12 representatives of the Executive Committee.

Activities: The main activity will be organizing the International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) which takes place every two years (Grenoble 2013 – 900 attendees; Milan 2015 – 1300 attendees) where researchers on public policy from around the world are involved. The next conference will take place in Singapore in June 2017 (Lee Kuan School of Public Policy). Ever increasing, the Association has various ongoing and future projects to develop itself, such as Winter/Summer Schools on public policy for students (Brazil, Italy, Etc.), an academic review, books, etc. The purpose of the IPPA is also to offer resources on public policy to the international academic community through its website and newsletters (which are sent twice a month to more than 4000 subscribers).

Intern responsibilities: The intern will help towards contributing to the development of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) by working on:
- The organization of the 3rd International Conference on Public Policy in Singapore (2017)
- Creating Winter/Summer school sessions
- Developing and managing a new website for the Association
- Searching for academic and institutional support
- Sending out IPPA newsletters
- Managing communications and member relations in the Association
- Actively engaging in and enhancing participation in the online Book Forum
- Daily assistance in administration and management of the Association
- Assisting in research

Intern profile: The candidate will be well-organized, autonomous and have a keen interest in research and public policy.

Internship time period: March 2017 to August 2017

Education level required : Master Student in Public Policy, Political Sciences or Social Sciences.

Languages requirement: English (fluent) – French (basic).

Administrative requirement: Tripartite intern agreement signed by the intern’s university, the intern and the IPPA (Intern has to be a student during the entire duration of the internship).

Allowance: Following the current French law, the allowance is around 515€/month (based on a 35h/week work time).

Other benefits: A 50% reimbursement on public transport costs (if applicable) and access to the ENTPE cafeteria (around 3-4 € / meal).

Accommodation: Possible access to student residences near the campus of ENTPE for the internship duration (rent: around 350 € dependent upon the apartment).
